More beading Pic 2 :)

Just a few projects I have gotten finished over the last few days. The beading has halted a bit since we started renovations, but it shouldn’t be forever. I was so jazzed when I was able to graphed out the Sugar Skull pattern I have had trapped in my brain for a few weeks. I think it turned out amazing.

Really isn’t comfortable typing right now as it is plus 30 in my house. It gets hot here in southern Saskatchewan! The garden is doing well. I should be picking peas in a week or so. Already got some chard and beet greens in the freezer.  My tomatoes are coming and my cucumber plants are getting big. I am now on the hunt for good U-Pick farms around my area so I start getting berries and such for the freezer.

Well from here in a very, very hot southern Saskatchewan green blessing and have a great day.

My Beading Projects from Last week

I have been so busy beading and gardening that I didn’t have time to even get on the computer for a week or so now. Me and the family spent the better part of the long weekend on the boat fishing and got some really nice perch and walleye for the freezer. Then I had internet trouble the last couple of days so couldn’t get online at all. The good side of that is I got my house totally scrubbed out and all my floors done. Not that you could tell now LOL. I got a nice harvest of early beets for the freezer tonight. I will drop a few more seed tomorrow before I water the garden. The peas have started to flower and so have the beans. My cucumbers are looking really nice and the leeks are finally starting to look like leeks and not grass LOL. I think tomorrow I am going to break out the dehydrator and get started drying some of the early dill weed. My family loves dill weed and it is so easy to dehydrate. Between the garden and the beading I haven’t had much down time lately but in a weird, but exhausted way I am enjoying it. I spent two hours getting my lawn mowed today, sweaty dirty job but it is done for now.

I did a few custom orders this week too. I made a beautiful chapstick case. It was purple with a white and black wolf print on it. I also just finished another custom skull and flames lighter case. It turned out really amazing and I love that one. I got a few pairs of earring done up. I have others that I haven’t had the chance to take pictures of yet, but it will happen over the next few days.  I also finished some really nice square stitch bracelets this last week. I love doing the square stitch, since it is just like working on the loom only without the extra strings at the end.  Tomorrow I am hoping to get a doily done or another lighter case, but I may decide to just do a few earrings instead. I guess it will depend on how I feel in the morning. It is almost time I designed a few new designs too. It just seems like there is just never enough time in the day now days. I also started babysitting for my sister this week too LOL. Talk about a full plate, but with it being summer and the boys all having pool passes it is pretty easy.

Well from here in beautiful sunny Saskatchewan green blessing and have a wonderful weekend.

Beading pics and Antelope pics :)

I have been so busy the last couple of weeks that it hasn’t left much time for blogging. I had to fill a few custom lighter case orders the last couple of weeks. Then I had company arrive so that cut into the beading time LOL. Then the garden and the lawn seemed to creep into my world and again took time from beading. But with little sleep and sheer determination I was able to finally finish all the projects on time and got them shipped out this morning. Here is me tapping myself on my back LOL. I think I am done with lighters for a few days and going to work on some nice earrings and maybe a doily or two.

We took, my boys and I, took my hubby fishing for father’s day. We got rained out, but not before we got to enjoy a little time at the lake and some beautiful animals. I saw a mommy deer nursing her young little baby. That was quite the sight. I have seen baby deer before, one was just a few hours old one time, but I have never had the privilege of seeing one feeding from its mom before. It was truly a beautiful sight.

We also got to see some of the beautiful Saskatchewan antelope. They are quite brave little creatures and allowed me to get pictures, from the car of course. I was so happy that the camera was being good that day and most of the pictures turned out clear and beautiful. We were able to get the shot of the antelope looking right at the camera. It was lovely.

At one of the lakes we saw pelicans. Who knew that pelicans would be so far from the sea? That was the last thing I expected to see over the weekend. My youngest son was the first to spot them. He started yelling “Look at the Pelicans MOM” naturally at first I thought it was just his imagination, but turned out he was dead right :) .

The next few days I am going to be focused on getting my garden weeded. Now that the rain has stopped it is time to go take a peek at the veggies and see how they are all coming along. I made the first salad of the season the other day with lettuce and veggies from the garden. It tasted so good and reminds me of how the work of gardening is so worth it. I splurged a little today and bought a nice garden hoe to make hilling those potatoes and getting weeds out easier. This weekend I am planning on getting some more carrots in the ground and maybe some radishes too.  Then in the evening I plan on getting some more beading projects done and finished. I would like to list some more stuff on etsy and for me to do that I have to have the projects done.

Summer is almost here and the boys only have three days left of school then they are out for the summer. They are getting pretty excited and so am I. The countdown is officially on now.

Well I should sign off for now. Have a wonderful day and from here in beautiful, sunny Saskatchewan green blessing.

New Lighter Cases

Well the sun is finally shining here again in Saskatchewan. I managed to get my garden weeded. Then spend the last two hours mowing my grass. It is amazing how big a yard seems once you haul out the trusty old push mower and tackle the grass. I can’t believe how well my garden is doing. It won’t be long now and I will be making my first salad out of all those nice little plants. The peas are doing wonderful. They are getting tall and just now starting to climb the chicken wire.  Today I finally found two little watermelon sprouts coming through the dirt. I hope that more show up during the next few days. If not oh well two will do. The potatoes need to be hilled. But I am going to hold off and save that chore for my hubby tonight. I am now getting tired and that sun out there is really hot.

I put that little avocado seed in some dirt today. I am not sure if it is going to do so well now though. Sometime during the night the seed cracked in two pieces and the tiny little root broke. Makes me kinda sad, but I still have hope that maybe it will make a comeback. I knew yesterday that I needed to put it in some soil, but it was raining outside and I didn’t have any dirt in the house.

My eldest got a really bad sunburn last Friday during his track day at school. Poor kid, I have been gooping him up with aloe vera for days. Just his shoulders blistered though, so that is good. It is finally starting to look alright today. I am keeping him home from school for a while just to be on the safe side. I don’t want to chance irritating the shoulders and him getting an infection. So until he can wear a shirt comfortably he is home with me.  Lesson for the day; Make sure to get the sunscreen on all exposed skin, not just the legs.

was a custom piece for someone

I got a couple more lighter cases done up this weekend. I finished my custom one and sent it out already. Then I got to work on a ladybug design. I think she turned out really nice. I used a mix green for the base color. It gives the illusion that the lady bug is climbing on a leaf and you get the close up view. I also just finished another custom case for another lady today. I still have to take pictures of that one, but will do that in the morning when the light is better in my room. With that one done I plan on starting another that I designed and graphed out the other day. The one case with the two hearts I haven’t listed yet on etsy. I want to have a few together and then spend a few days listing. The one with the one big heart was my custom lighter case. I think that one turned out really nice.

Well, I should get back to my day. From here in beautiful sunny Saskatchewan have a wonderful day and green blessings.

Beading Pics & Getting Ready for The Weekend :)

Patriot Red, White &Blue Doily

The last few days have been really good. The sun is shining this morning so that always makes the start of a new day great. My boys are going to have track day today so they are pretty excited. They are riding a bus to the next town with money in pocket to buy their lunch. They are going to have a great time.

I was able to finish my custom lighter case and got it shipped out yesterday. I am glad I got the Djeep lighters, for now I have a new item that I can work and list. I can’t wait to get a few more the of those style lighter cases done. I have a ladybug pattern I have been eyeballing for a couple of days now. Hopefully this weekend I can get started on it and see how it turns out.

I did get a couple of doilies done this week. I sent one off to a store to be displayed on consignment, but the other two I listed on Etsy this week. I also finished the bracelet I started at the start of the week. It turned out pretty cool. I may have to order some more yellow beads and make a few more of those up, just cause they were fun to make and I like them.

My little avocado seed is sure getting a good root on it now. It is cool to see how it is changing from a seed to a plant. I have never tried to grow on before, so it is new and exciting to watch. Each day it is changing and the root is getting longer. It took so long to get started I thought maybe it wouldn’t but now it is just taking off.

I borrowed the sprinkler from my sister yesterday. I will hook it up to the hose this weekend and give my garden a much needed drink. It looked like it wanted to rain all week, but held off so the garden is kinda dry.  The weeds don’t seem too bad yet, but the ants are trying to move in, so I have to do a little research and find a good ant killer that isn’t going to hurt the plants. Err ants drive me nuts, it seems like no matter what you do they find you and make life just a little bit harder. On the plus side the plants seem to be okay and doing good for now. I should think about planting a few random onions in the other rows as the ants seem to not want to go near the onions and leeks.  I am going to try and get the family motivated to get the yard cleanup this weekend. We need to deal with that pile of nasty old wood in the back yard, I am just scared that it is loaded with spiders and those scare the snot right out of me. Unreasonable fear of those eight legged little creatures.

Well it is time I get my day started. I hope that everyone has a wonderful weekend and from here in beautiful southern sunny Saskatchewan green blessings everyone. :)

Whew! What A Day. Hello Monday!

Today I don’t think I relaxed for a single minute. What a way to start the week out. I began by running to the post office to pick up envelopes. I had to mail a bunch of packages out this morning. So I ran over there, then off to the store. Picked up what I needed to get the boys and hubby their lunch supplies baked for the week. Forgot a few things, didn’t realize until I was pretty much walking up my driveway. Ain’t that how it always goes though? If you are going to forget something you won’t remember until you arrive home. So back to the store I go, on foot, as I don’t have a car right now. I pick up the stuff I forgot and get some celery and carrots for the stew I decided to make tonight for supper. Back home again.

Once in the house I put all the stuff I bought away. Then I break out that wonderful mix machine I have and start making the cookies. Oatmeal to be exact. The boys all love those and the recipe is so simple.  I get the dough all ready and the oven preheating. I then roll all the dough up in balls to make baking easier and get to work. I put the first batch in the oven and start with the housework. I then get out the Crockpot and start the stew.  After which I sit down in-between cookie batches and sort through all the beading stuff I need to get sent off. I get the price list down and everything labeled.  There are two stores in which I send my beading stuff to for selling on consignment. So they get packaged up and I set about getting packaged the custom Chippewa dreamcatcher I made for a friend’s little one. Then I get my hubby’s friends stuff all packaged up and address all the labels. Turn the oven off, put the rest of the cookie dough in the fridge and off to the post office again. Get everything in the mail, hit the bank, and back home to finish the cookies. Good thing about the post office the Djeep lighters I was waiting for to do a custom lighter case arrived.

144 cookies later, I get a small chance to sit for a moment and it wasn’t long. I started a batch of banana muffins to put in the boys lunch and give the stew a stir. The muffins don’t take that long and I get them out of the oven and turn the monster off for the day. Tomorrow I will finish making the muffins and bake the bread for the lunches for the month. I am not a big fan of baking so when I do bake I tend to do it in very large batches as to not have to do it again soon. Thank god that summer is almost here. I can get a rest from lunch snacks, well a bit of one as my hubby still needs his lunch snacks.

I then get the call from other half stating that he is going to be really late. So again, off to the store I go to get the things he was going to pick up for me for the morning. Back home now, and starting the lighter case for my custom order. So far it is looking pretty good. I have never beaded a Djeep lighter before and am now very excited about all the new patterns it will open up for me. I also have a doily I have half finished that I need to complete. Good thing I understand the concept of multi-tasking, or I could be in big trouble.  Tonight I hope to finish the lighter case then tomorrow I can finish that doily, in-between batches of bread and muffins. Oh happy Monday to me LOL.

Well since my day is not yet over I need to sign off for now. It is time to serve up the stew and feed the hungry boys. From here in beautiful, busy Saskatchewan have a wonderful week and green blessings! :) :) :)

Just some more Beading Pictures.

This weekend has been busy in the way of beading. I have just finished another doily and hope to get it to film in the next day or so. I also started another bracelet today. Don’t Tread on Me in a vibrant yellow and outlined in black. Once finished I will be taking pictures and loading to my etsy store.

It looks like it wants to rain again, but still hasn’t made up its mind to do so. All day all I could smell was the smell of rain and fresh cut grass. Two of the most beautiful smells in the world, in my opinion of course.

I did have to replant a few cucumbers today. The rest of the garden is doing amazing, but those poor little cucumbers sure didn’t like last weekend’s snow. A few survived but those were the seeds that hadn’t come through the ground yet. I was beginning to think that the leeks were not going to grow. But this morning when I went out to the garden I saw the little sprouts coming through the ground. At first I thought it was grass, until my brain turned back on and I remembered that grass doesn’t grow in a straight line in a garden LOL. And I also saw today that my little avacado seed is grown a small root! Nothing big yet just a little nub of a root but it is there and starting to grow, now I just need to convince my cat that it doesn’t want to play with it and the water.

Well I should get back to this bracelet now. No matter how hard I try I cannot convince it to bead itself. So hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend and from here in beautiful Saskatchewan green blessing.
